Indianapolis, IN. – April 21, 2017. The NextRadio app can now be used by consumers for FM radio smartphone listening in Argentina. The app went live in the Google Play store today activating a wide range of smartphones that already exist in the region. This further expansion into Latin America now allows listeners to tune to their favorite FM stations in Colombia, Mexico, Peru and Argentina. Broadcasters in the region are involved with the launch and will be working to promote and enhance the listening experience.
“Consumers are seeking us out in Latin America, with little marketing effort, as they already have habits of listening to FM radio on their mobile devices,” said Paul Brenner, President of TagStation, the power behind NextRadio. Brenner further stated, “More than 80% of smartphones sold in Latin America are Android phones so it is a natural next step to expand the request to handset makers to also include unlocking the FM Chip in Latin America.”
Later this year Brazil will also go live in the Google Play Store which will expand the NextRadio app coverage to the top five Latin America countries which is approximately 43% of the population.
